No heat in winter, no cool in a heat wave, busted lines. We answer the phone day or night, weekends included.
A lot of so-called maintenance visits are a filter rinse and a quick look. That is not a tune-up. When we service a ductless system we clean it properly, test how it is running, and check the parts that actually fail. Many Fairport systems are heat pumps that work all year, so a real tune-up means getting both sides ready, the cooling for summer and the heating for winter, not just the one you happen to be using that day.
Because we service every ductless brand, it does not matter who installed your system. Justin or Colby does the work, so the person cleaning your system is the one who can spot a small problem before it becomes a breakdown. You get a straight read on how your system is doing and what, if anything, it needs.
Justin VanCassele and Colby Baker run AmeriHeat together. Colby is a veteran. Both owners are on jobs every week across Rochester and Monroe, Wayne and Ontario Counties.
Give them a call. They actually pick up.
A full ductless tune-up is more than a filter rinse. This is the work we do on every Fairport mini-split we service.
We clean the reusable filters and check their condition. Dirty filters are the number one cause of weak airflow and lost efficiency, so this is where it starts.
If your system is a heat pump, we do not just check the cooling. We test the heat mode too, the defrost cycle, the reversing valve that flips it from cool to heat, and the outdoor coil, so it is ready to heat your Fairport home all winter. Many canal homes lean on the heat pump for real heat, so this check matters.
We clean the coil and blower wheel inside the head where dust and buildup collect in a tight space. A clean coil heats and cools better, runs cheaper, and keeps the air fresh.
We flush and clear the condensate drain so it does not clog and leak water down your wall. A backed-up drain is one of the most common ductless headaches, and it is easy to prevent.
We check the refrigerant charge and inspect the line set for wear or leaks. Low refrigerant makes a system work harder, heat and cool worse, and wear out faster, so catching it early saves you money.
We inspect the wiring and connections, then run the system and calibrate the thermostat and fan so everything works together the way it should. Then we tell you how it is doing.
No subcontractors and no rushed checklists. Justin or Colby does the full tune-up and gives you a straight report on your Fairport mini-split.
It depends on how you use it. If your mini-split only cools in the summer, one professional tune-up a year, in spring before the cooling season, is the right schedule. If you run it year-round as a heat pump for both heating and cooling, it works twice as hard and should be serviced twice a year, once before cooling and once before heating. In between, the one job that is yours is cleaning the filters every couple of weeks. We will show you how.
If you use your mini-split just for summer cooling, one tune-up a year in the spring keeps it clean, efficient, and ready for the heat.
If you run a ductless heat pump year-round, service it twice, once before cooling and once before heating. It works hard in both seasons and the extra visit keeps it healthy.
A heat pump that cooled fine all summer can still let you down the first cold week, because heating uses a different side of the system. The defrost cycle, the reversing valve, and the outdoor coil all have to work for the unit to heat, and none of them get tested when it is only cooling. A fall tune-up checks the heating side before you need it, so your Fairport home is not left cold on the first hard freeze. For a canal home leaning on the heat pump for real warmth, that check is the difference between a comfortable winter and an emergency call.
This is the part most people do not know until it is too late. Most ductless manufacturers require proof of regular professional maintenance to honor a warranty claim. If a compressor fails in year six and you cannot show the system was maintained, the manufacturer can deny the claim and you pay for the part out of pocket. A documented tune-up is cheap insurance against a bill like that.
We keep a record of every tune-up we do on your Fairport system, so if you ever need to make a warranty claim, you have the maintenance history to back it up.
A clean, well-tuned ductless system uses less power to do the same job, so your bills stay lower in both seasons. It also lasts longer. A neglected system might give up in ten or twelve years, while a maintained one can run well past fifteen. Spending a little on a yearly tune-up is far cheaper than replacing a system early.
Book a tune-up with the owners. No plan required, just a real service.
A standard ductless tune-up takes about an hour, sometimes a bit longer on a heat pump where we check both the cooling and heating sides, or if you have several indoor heads. We do not rush it. The whole point is doing the full job right, and we will tell you what we found before we leave.
