What to check before calling for ductless repair

A few of these are quick fixes that save you a service call. Worth running through before you pick up the phone:

Clean the indoor head filters. Ductless filters are reusable and need to be cleaned monthly during heavy use. A clogged filter is the most common cause of weak airflow, frozen indoor coil, and reduced cooling capacity. Pop the front panel off the indoor head, pull the filters, rinse with water, let dry, reinstall. Many service calls end here.
Check the remote batteries. If the indoor unit is not responding, swap remote batteries first. Then verify the indoor unit has power: most ductless heads have a small status light on the front.
Check the breaker. Ductless circuits are usually labeled at the panel. A tripped breaker locks the system out completely. Reset once. If it trips again, do not keep resetting. Call us.
