Lyons is the county seat of Wayne County, New York, located in the south-central part of the county on the historic Erie Canal. The hamlet (formerly an incorporated village from 1854 until dissolution on December 31, 2015) has a population of about 3,989. The town of Lyons itself covers 37.6 square miles and is part of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. NY-14 and NY-31 intersect in the hamlet center. ZIP code is 14489.
Lyons has a wide mix of older housing stock dating back to the canal era. Homes around Broad Street, William Street, and Phelps Street in the village core often run on older boilers, fuel oil furnaces, and steam systems that most Rochester area HVAC companies have stopped servicing. We have not. AmeriHeat works on oil furnaces, oil tank issues, oil-to-gas conversions, and steam boilers found in these older Lyons homes.
Newer Lyons builds toward the edges of the town typically run on natural gas with forced air, central AC, and increasingly heat pumps. The wider Wayne County agricultural housing around Lyons often relies on propane or fuel oil with backup ductless. We service all of it.
From simple repairs to full system replacements, here is what AmeriHeat handles for Lyons homeowners. Whether your home is in the hamlet center or out toward the Erie Canal lock complex, we can quote and complete the work. HVAC services Lyons calls are part of our regular Wayne County route.

Furnace replacement Lyons is a planned project, not an emergency repair, and we can typically schedule install within 1 to 2 weeks. For the dedicated furnace repair detail page see our furnace repair page.

AC repair Lyons calls pick up in July and August. Air conditioning repair services Lyons homeowners need most often is on central AC systems aging out, low on refrigerant, or with failed capacitors. We diagnose, quote, and fix in one visit when the parts are on the truck. For older Lyons homes without central ductwork (common in the village core), ductless Gree mini splits are the right call. Heat pump repair Lyons calls have picked up over the last few years as more Wayne County homeowners install heat pumps. Heat pumps both heat and cool, so when one quits you lose both. We work on all major heat pump brands and can typically diagnose and quote in one visit. For new installs we work with all major brands; for ductless heat pumps we install Gree, which works well for older Lyons homes around the hamlet center.
Lots of older Lyons homes around the canal era core are still running on fuel oil. Most Rochester HVAC companies have stopped servicing fuel oil. We have not. AmeriHeat handles oil furnace repair, oil tank work, and oil-to-gas conversions when a gas line is available.
