Standard single-stage thermostat wiring does not handle the O/B reversing valve wire that a heat pump requires, and installing the wrong thermostat on a heat pump can prevent the system from switching correctly between heating and cooling mode. If you have a heat pump, dual-fuel system, or two-stage furnace, we confirm the thermostat is correctly configured for your system before leaving. Both Ecobee and Honeywell Home support multi-stage and heat pump configurations when set up correctly.
RG&E and NYSEG periodically offer rebates on smart thermostat installation for qualifying Rochester area homes.
